Hello the car in question is a 09 6.0 hybrid. The oil pressure at regular driving is around 60 and does fluctuate up and DC own depending on the driving but just casual cruising is always at the 60ish mark. It also sometimes makes a very hard to describe almost metalic grind to a stop when it turns off (the sound seemed to come from the intake manifold throttle body area when I put my ear to it), I use to hear what I'm assuming to be the lifters when it would first start, the rpms would also climb sometimes when driving so I replaced the TB last night, and have also replaced thr driver valve cover because it was burning oil fast and there was a PSA on the fix. Idk if all these could be related or not, we use 5w-30 in it. I also posted in the regular drivetrain. Sorry if double isnt aloud but with different oil line routing I didn't know if it could be hybrid specific

Hello Brady I also have a 09 Hybrid Tahoe. Not sure how many miles you have on yours but I am currently at 225,000 miles and the oil pressure runs around 45/50 when fully warmed up, it starts out cold at around 60/65. Using M1 5w-30 and ACDelco filter. On the noises the Hybrid ssytem does make some unusual noises sometimes LOL However I cannot say that I ever hear anything like a metallic grinding noise? Can you get a audio/video recording and post a link?
Valve cover on most have already been changed a long time ago but some slipped through the cracks I guess. Mine burns a quart of oil every 1000 miles or so dependent upon how hard I drive it. I do not believe that any of that has any relation to a metallic grind noise though.

Hello
We are a new hybrid owner. I also heard the metallic grinding sound . I noticed it right after I started the suv up. Key in the ignition. Ac on.
The sound can be heard from outside the vehicle.
Have you figured out the issue. There is one thread on this site. They mentioned it may be idlers bearing
Thank you

On startup if it has sat for a while the High Pressure oil pump will lose it prime and you will hear a weird sound that is cavitation until it primes up it is normal for a GM engine. I have had 5 brand new 6.2 engines 2014 - 2016 - 2017 -2018 and a 2019 in Sierra PU's that do the same thing. My ole HyHO does the same thing.
