Hello,

Yesterday the back hatch when activated, either with the key fob, buttons interior or exterior opened and it went up about 12" and then closed. Could not get it to go up all the way and stay open. Nothing seems to be in the way.

Ended up using the window in the glass gate, which works fine manually.

Any thoughts on this? I didn't see mcuh on the forum about this kind of an issue. Rear camera works fine, and locks work fine. Might it be some kind of a sensor perhaps? Never had an issue with this before.

I had gone over all the vehicle hinges and door locks etc with WD 40 earlier this week. Sprayed everything that moves... :) Maybe a sensor got sprayed? Thank for your comments.

One of your lift gate struts is probably shot. I just replaced one of mine with these, simple fix works fine. I only replaced the failed one and have the other ready since they came in a pair. There are other, more expensive, replacements options, but for under $20 I just figured lets give it shot, so far so good.

Thanks, I just stopped and spoke with my mechanic who also has a couple of these Yukons. He said it was te struts, and manually held it open and it would not sty open. So he will order a couple and let me know when they come in. 128000 Miles. Sounds like an inexpensive fix.
