We have an '11 Escalade that we love and have had no real problems with until a couple days ago. Out of nowhere it will not go past 80 mph and cruise control won't work past 76 mph. It's not an engine power issue.

It has all the power in the world but as soon as you hit 80 the computer cuts the power and will not allow it to go any faster just like when it hits the governor.

There's no codes or anything and it's completely stock. I'm at a loss as to what happened all of a sudden. Any help would be appreciated

Yep I do that's probably why then.

Shocks were replaced before we bought it and someone didn't tighten the bolts well enough and one came out letting the shock get pushed into the compressor and breaking the electrical connector for the MRC. But that's been a few months ago.

Guess I should get that fixed now lol

Ya it's a safety thing so you don't wreck due to the suspension having problems it's kind of a catch all because it can't determine what is wrong it just knows there is a problem

Um there is a reason just can't put my finger on it at the moment, there is a error that happens and the computer will only allow you to go up to 75-80 until it gets fixed
i'm thinking it's something with the suspension, steering or the brakes, give me a minute i'll find it

Sorry, just saw this. For some reason I’m not getting notified when someone tags me.
