Hello All,
I looked online and YouTube on how to repair this fix for the message "Service Trailer Brake System" I took the spare tire off to locate said 'trailer brake relay module' and on my 2010 Yukon there was no trailer brake relay module there. I then purchased the trailer brake switch that is on the dash.

So would anyone know exactly where the trailer brake relay module is located on a 2010 GMC Yukon. because it is NOT above the spare tire location.

Thank you.

The SSR (Solid State Relay) is located in front of the fuel tank on a bracket off of the frame on the driver's side. Now that fixed the problem on mine and it's the usual suspect besides dirty connections out back, but it could be other things.

I replaced my module last week (under the driver's seat side) and it didn't make the message go away.

Did you pull the trouble code(s) for this? It could be the connector out back, take it apart and check for corrosion and check the wiring. The only things after that are the dash switch, BCM and module on the frame.

I know it's been a while but I finally got back to working on this. I replaced the plug in the bumper over the weekend. There was no corrosion on the old plug or the wiring harness terminals. No change. Still flashing the STBS code. I've now replaced the module in the dash, the relay under the truck and the plug in the bumper. Will this code just go away when it's clear or will I have to manually clear it? I have no other idea what else to do.

not sure I would think it would just go away if the problem was resolved, sounds like you need to have it scanned with a tech2 or a high scanner like a snap-on, etc to see what the specific code is, this will point you to a more precise issue to address, for instance it could be a broken wire in the harness or maybe the relay module you replaced needs to be learned to the vin.
