Is that Chevy app better than torque?

as far as reading abs and U codes as well as p codes. the chevrosys app is better, but for scanning i use the t app still, you know for on the fly scans. i got a hptuners that does great scans, but it also fails to read abs codes. so i revert back to the chevrosys free scanner. i was actually amazed how well it worked for a free app.

I also have this problem on occasion with my 06 Yukon xl. It is related to traction control. The sound you hear is the same one that happens when traction control kicks in. It comes from the brake controller mounted under the vehicle below the driver. Mine only happens once in a while at a stop sign. It only last for about a second then releases. It is not much but definitely enough to notice the holding back of truck movement. I have not yet bothered to track it down.

Did you notice if the rpms rose and fell with the pedal while it was not moving?

I pulled up to a stop sign today, I let off the brake, pushed on the gas and the Tahoe does not move.

No problems at any other time of operation. It may have something to do with the traction control and it doesn't happen very often. I BELIEVE that today I turned of the traction control and then the vehicle moved without problems. I was sitting at a 4 way stop though and was more concerned about the lines of cars on all 4 corners than paying attention to why it went away.

The same thing happened last winter a couple times and I wrote it off to ice, no ice today..
I have had a whirring\grinding noise in the front left for some time, only happening from a dead stop (every time) to about 5mph, the sound then goes away. I get a vibration then it almost sounds like some kind of actuator moving, a noise something like a power window motor would sound.

The sound happens every time you move from 0 mph, the lack of movement about once a month.

Tranny fluid is fine and I just repaired a leak in a power steering hose, but this hesitation \ lack of movement has been going on for a year or so now.

Any ideas for me?

Could be a speed sensor in the transmission going bad. Do you have it in "2wd" or "auto" on the 4x4 selector? If it's in auto, it could also be a sensor going bad in one of the wheels that tells it that it's slipping, which would make it divert power to a different wheel instead.

I had problems with the grounds in the 4wd, but that was resolved. My problem was while in 2wd and I never used Auto 4wd. I always selected 2 or 4. I have determined I have a problem with the speed sensor on the right wheel, but have not had the opportunity to fix it yet.

I Didn't see where you put how many miles you got on the rig, but a 2006 I'm guessing over 100,000 easy, replace the two front hubs and be done with it.

Had issue with my 04 Tahoe. Come to stop light, go to take off and rpms would go up but truck wouldn't move. Always assumed it was tranny going bad. Ended up wrecking truck before trying to fix.
