Is anybody here familiar with doing this valley cover gasket job with the AFM solenoids under it?

IS IT POSSIBLE, replacing just the perimeter gasket and NOT the gaskets for the solenoid oil ports underneath has this thing ****** up and misfiring?
Yes.
Your VLOM gasket should look like this I believe. It has the gaskets for your oil ports that pressurize your lifters.

I concur. I am going with this theory and will start all over again. Just to eliminate that out of the question because I really believe everything thing else is good. That’s the only doubt I have right now is not replacing those. Also found this @ 2:47, cause #2.

Just screwed now until Tuesday to try and track down new parts. Means I have to call out of work too now. And hopefully get this fixed. :(

I guess mine does have that foam under the intake. It's further back than I thought it would be and couldn't see it until I got my phone down by the pulley and took a pice2266586323420243c3829349dee9819.jpg
