Hi there! I haven't posted in quite a while, but with the beautiful weather in North Texas this weekend, it was a good opportunity to wash/detail my two rides...the '03 Tahoe and my weekend track rat, the '17 1LE. Unfortunately, with the quarantine craziness there has not been any track time this season yet, but I'm still hopeful for some events later this summer. In the meantime, I'll take both out for a spin around town every couple of days to keep the batteries charged and the cobwebs blown out of the tailpipes. ;)

Let's see...It is a 2017 Camaro SS 1LE.

In '17 the 1LE option was the track option built on the lowest rung SS model, so you saved weight of things you didn't need, but had the track goodies installed.

The combined package gives you items such as the 455 HP LT1 engine, six speed tranny w/ short throw shifter, magnetic ride control shocks, enhanced suspension components, track cooling package (oil, diff and trans), six piston Brembos in the front, four piston in the back, larger rotors all around, Eagle F1 tires, recaro seats, dual exhaust, a built in PDR system for recording video/performance info and an electronic diff to help shift power between the rear wheels in corners as needed.

Really cool package for a pretty cheap buy in price, and performance that matches/exceeds most super cars. I'll simply say the car has WAY more talent than I do, but its a blast to take around autocross and track events. :)

Late model Camaro's are kicking some ars. I didn't realize until recently just how potent these can be. Think Nurburging.... Nice.

Same here. Day 3 and still going. Started with clay, then compound for paint correction, polish, and sealant. Using the new turtle wax ceramic stuff. Unbelievable

The paint is looking really good on your Tahoe! No swirls, holograms or artifacts in the pics. Nice work! :)

Yeah the Griots Garage compound was perfect. I didn’t have any major defects that I needed to be aggressive on the cutting. I never go to a car wash and never have the dealer put it through theirs when I need repairs. IMO car washes are brutal on the clear coat. The key is to just take your time. People can be nervous about burning through the clear coat as I was my initial time. The foam pads don’t get hot like a lambs wool pad. For me I don’t need to get every scratch out, but I think it came out well for the average Joe.
