I'd say the driver side if it won't make any functional difference. Why not keep the TB servo and electronics away from the turbo heat if possible, ya know?

what about that electric steering have you looked at the unit's off a k2? my 18 silverado has electric steering and it doesn't take any special battery

i have looked at the price.... :(
they really arent too bad, would be about $600 to get one here. they look like all of the steering angle and stuff is picked up right where the steering shaft connects - which would be better as its self contained.
for the moment i will be using the volvo/ford electric hydraulic pump, which i need for the hydroboost brakes anyway
