i can only assume its northern salt belt truck and the po was tired of seeing the stupid facking rustyness especially on the frame where the factory bullshite wax coating just peels right off... oh wait thats my truck... carry on

Yeah, I bought her in Chicago, was a Texas truck, but they drove it back and forth. I guess he got transferred, bc he traded her in for a 4x4. I stole it in 14, for 30K, with just over 62k.

Any suggestions on removing this crap? I was thinking the GooGone Auto stuff would work and a wire brush. Thoughts???

Try using diesel fuel on a small spot to see if it cuts it.

/\ ive looked around to try and see what works, seems a lot of people soak rags in some sort of petroleum based liquid and wrap the frame then wash it off with hot water pressure washer. I need to clean up the frame in the engine bay on mine as there are a few spots where its all gone and frame has some surface rust. power steering fluid seems to cut it , trans fluid also. tried to pressure wash it off with a small one and unless its old and dried up it doesnt do much

What is your method and what do you use?
well it really wasn't that dirty because I clean it about twice a year, I took the engine cover off and just sprayed it with a whole can of gunk original and then used the car wash pressure washer with high speed soap and then high speed rinsed it, didn't spray directly in the alternator or ecm and didn't spray directly in the air filter everything else is game.

then when I got back to the house I wiped it all down with gunk "shine" which really didn't do shit, don't waste your money I got it just to try it out thinking it would maybe make it all shiny which it it did for about 10 seconds, there is better product out there like ZEP that stuff makes it really shine.

Had the muffler shop put a little bead on the drivers rear seat arm rest, it's a weak spot the arm rest stop wears out and then then it just falls down, should be a permanent fix, previously I used a washer and made the bolt so it would go tighter but the kids keep climbing on it.
