Hey guys!

Was working today on my T connector and mentioned LOTS of black gunk inside the heater hose.
It looks like rubber inside the hose degrading very badly. Is it something that usually happens?

Are you the original owner? Sounds like someone put bars leak or another radiator repair goo.

No, I'm the second owner, its an EX police car. It looks like soot, I doubt that they used bars leak during service, might be before they put it for sale? Will coolant flush liquid wash it out?

The flush will flush it out but it will also continue what it has been doing and that is pushing bits of that into the radiator and the heater core and the inner workings of the thermostat. I would flush it out under water hose pressure with everything unhooked and flush out the rad and heater core separately and change the thermostat. You most definitely have some of that in the rad and HC.
