I said goodbye to a long term friend today.
The Tahoe is officially off to a new home.

She sold via OfferUp in 48 hours, however I was out of town and couldn’t meet up until today. So the buyer had to wait for about 5 days. We kept in touch and I had 2 other really interested guys at the right prices well as a couple low ballers at $6K.

I got home on Monday, uncovered the truck and gave her wash. Then some detail on Tuesday and agreed to meet at 1000 on Wednesday 10 June. I went for a late night blast on Monday and on Tuesday I took my son and daughter for a final drive with each one separately.

I also let them steer around my neighborhood one last time while I just controlled the pedals. What a great way to finish off our time together. Each one remembered special moments in the truck. My daughter I spent many days driving to dance and lacrosse playing Taylor Swift at high volume. She gave me hugs and I had a bit of tears. My boy was stoked to drive the Tahoe.

Wednesday morning came and the buyer rocked up to my house at 1000. We had a fun 2 hours talking about the Tahoe, talking and looking at all the cool stuff, the build binder, spare parts, going for a blast down the road and on
I-95 for my final drive before he drove her away.

Not knowing how much the buyer loved Chevy’s as much as I do, he and his friend both whip out pictures of their Impala SS's, plus a few pics from the SS car club. This guy had been looking for my truck and his jaw dropped when he arrived.

The man was speechless. And right then I knew she was going to a great, loving home. You know the kind where the neighbors roll their eyes with a smile about washing it and wiping it down all the time, early morning, midnight and then parking it or not driving in the rain. Yep, she is going to be just fine. He had two boys under 5 who were stoked and his wife as well. Later he sent me a pic and said they were all happy for daddy’s new ride.

He debated bringing the flatbed, but wanted to drive her home. I know I may be tooting my horn a bit, but it is still Fosscore’s build thread and I’m not leaving just because the Tahoe is gone. Lol He loved the suspension, the wheels, couldn’t believe the paint was OEM, other than the color matched parts, the tune, the growl, the blue LEDS…you know pretty much everything that you guys have helped me build over the last 6 years. He did look at me when I told him I was moving to Australia and simply said ….HOLDEN?! I said the wife gave me permission…..

How about Fosscore’s Holden Build Thread?

I told him that I was super stoked for him and that made the sale that much easier to come to terms with. I know just a truck, right….but you guys know how it goes. So the buyer gets home and turns out one of the other “buyers” was his brother. The exchange of texts was too funny and probably making sure I was legit. Lot of LEO friends so you know just making sure. I think the quality of the truck, build records from purchase, etc... meant the truck matched the owner? :)

Here are some of the texts we sent back and forth. Funny thing is we each thanked each other for the truck. I’m happy for him.

-Damn I like when cars are kept like this!!
-Well you should have no worries, I take care of my cars like they are one of my children
-Once again, thanks a MILLION!!!
-The wife and kids LOVE the truck man.
-I will most definitely continue on with the build sheet and continue to have her serviced over at your buddy's shop.
-My family thanks you man!!
-Sounds good, can’t thank you enough! Will keep you posted with everything and feel free to reach out anytime.

I did have a little cry when she was finally gone. My wife gave me a hug. My vanity plate will be coming Down Under with me for sure!

Anyways, looking forward to when his SS gets out of the shop to get some pics of the two rides together. I’ll leave you guys with some pics today in my driveway before the buyer arrived. I’m happy, sad and satisfied. Thanks guys.
