Alternator

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I can't figure out what alternator is needed for my tahoe. Is there a certain code for which one is in it and if so how do I find out which one so I can buy a new one. The old one is growling, to me it sounds like bearings.

You have a chevy tahoe, yes? if so, please provide the following:
year
trim level
engine type
flex fuel (yes or no)
2WD or 4WD

I see two different alternators - 105 amp, and 130 amp. I would personally go with a 130 amp because more is always better when it comes to charging capabilities.

Ya it has the 130 amp Delco.

looks like about 100 bones on rock auto for a acdelco 130 amp.......................

I guess I'm missing what you need. Can you be more specific? You can literally log on any auto parts store website in existence and type in basic info and be presented with multiple options for various parts that fit your car.

Look at the RPO sticker in your glovebox. It should have one of these codes:

K68 = 105a generator (alternator)
KG3 = 145a "
KG8 = 130a "

you can get 145a for basically the same price and if you poke around there is 160a available also
