rockers on both sides of my 04 tahoe LT are rusted...one side had a big ass hole in it too. i did some DIY patching with some bondo and a piece of metal sheet just to close it up and paint over it with some black to keep it looking okay. the rust ate through the black...got alot of work planned this year for my truck to keep her going. i want to replace these panels anyone got any recommendations? experience with? price costs at a mechanic? the back ends of both rockers are rusted to crap and are now eating through the plastidip that was hiding it. ill get a better price if i buy everything together and bring it to my mechanic at one shot i got some front suspension stuff being done would like to throw this in there. i want to remove and replace the problem parts if possible i remember seeing bolts to the whole thing. remove it and replace reinstall the cheap running boards for now.

I had the same issue on my 2004 Silverado Crew Cab. A local body shop that I use and trust quoted me $1500-$2000 a side to replace the rockers and repaint depending on how bad it was underneath. It included cab corners.

What do you have for tools? If you have a wire feed welder a cutoff saw, grinder and a bunch of clamps you can go at it yourself with some aftermarket patch panels. It does take some skill tho. If you have time on your hands you can do it. Just read and watch every bit of info you can find.
