One thing I miss about my Silverado is the straight pipe v8 roar. I had a glasspack on it but the weld rusted off and I never fixed it. I do like having a quiet tahoe in a way for trips with the family so they sleep, but I’m getting tempted to atleast chop off the resonator.
Just as an FYI....chopping off the resonator will do very little in the way of adding extra noise or rumble. It'll definitely make everything look better but that resonator does almost nothing and makes no noticeable difference with regard to noise.

Then why is it on there? :yuno:

Good question. Same could be asked about the AFM system GM also installed on these vehicles. It, too, is a usually heap of garbage but yet there it is  :slap:

:D

I enter into evidence, from your own very words:

... that resonator .... makes no noticeable difference with regard to noise.

... also improves sound slightly by getting rid of it.

Notice how I use the word "slightly". Let's consider it VERY slightly. I just didn't want to give anyone false hope that it's going to make any major difference when they're use to having loud trucks in the past. :boobs:

This weekend I installed new MSD coils to replace my stock coils with 224k on them. The burb seems to idle smoother and runs good. She wasn't running poorly before but would idle a little rough on occasion. :)

I also gave her a good once over as I usually do about every 6 months. Brakes looks good, need an upper ball joint on the passenger side, she needs new tires ASAP #facepalm Overall, she's looking to be in good shape in preparation for summer vacations and such. Hopefully will get the time to do upper ball joints before summer.

Link to coils?

The resonator is designed to get rid of drone at certain rpms, like while cruising.

I deleted mine once upon a time but I ended up reinstalling it after completely redoing my exhaust and finding out it had an annoying drone at 60-75 mph... reinstalled resonator, no more drone.
