Ok, so I am going to rebuild my 6L80E due to my increasing power output and towing.
I'm going with a "stage 4" rebuild /components to make it as bulletproof as possible.

My concern is choosing the torque converter. There are plenty of "high performance" Converters out
there. But I want a Heavy Duty one.. The Billet converter builders all do 258/ 10.5" converters.
I want/need a fullsize 300mm /12" converter. I would like it to be billet if possible. And I would
like it to be multi disc lockup clutches..
A 6L90 from a Caddy CTS-V was suggested as it is a dual disc gm factory converter, but it
has a stall of 2000-2400 rpm... That's in a much lighter vehicle with NO Towing...
So I'm sure it would act very "loose" in my Denali XL.
The stock stall speed as far as I can find, is about 1600 rpm.. I think I'd like to keep
the new stall around 1800 rpm just to help with idle creep a bit.

I've contacted many converter builders with no clear answer/choice yet.

Any real world experience is appreciated !!!

Thanks Don.. I;ll look into that
Like I said I don't necessarily want a racing or higher stall. Just a lot of "beef"

Circle D or Yank I tow with a circle d 2200-2400 300 mm 4l65E $500.00. Would have gone billet but he told me 400 more on phone when I ordered it. But really was only 200 more. Anyway may be more for your transmission. I have towed, made track hits and just had nothing but fun with it! Good Luck!

Didn't have time today to talk to a few of the converter mfrs.. Hope to have more time tom or wed.
I def want a 300mm (12") full size with better lockup clutch(es) , Possibly Billet,
and only want 200 or so stall above stock.
That's some of the issue too.. Stock Stall ??????? I've seen a range of 1400 rpm to 1800 rpm..
If anyone knows the true number, chime in...

Another option mentioned was the ZL1 or Caddy CTS-V Converter as they are full size with a smooth Twin Clutch Lockup Converter...
But they are about 2400 Stall - which would prob stall higher in my Heavy Ass Yukon XL (esp when towing)
