I am old to GM but new to Tahoe forum. I have worked on cars for a long time. I have to admit I have forgotten a lot so please be kind and help an old man.

As far as I am aware, the last set of points I installed have not failed.Welcome to the Forum from NH, Jack.
As other have stated above, there are a number of us here who remember doing tune-ups every 10,000 miles, replacing points, condensers, and rotors.

Me too!!! I tried to explain it to my sons, and they just stared at me. Geeezzz...I still have a dwell meter. God I am old.
