Folks, I recieved a trouble code P1682 ignition 1 switch circut 2 on my 2009 Tahoe Z71 4x4 LT.

It currently has a DiabloSport canned Tune (87 octane) which I updated yesterday. Today, after driving it around, the Tahoe wouldn't start (no crank) and so I jumped it. It took a few minutes before it started back up, but then it threw the code.

I was wondering if its a part I can go buy and replace myself, or is it the tune itself.

Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks!

Found this and since you said you just updated yesterday I would go back and recheck your work for a possible problem you may have caused by a loose pin in the connections.

2 fuses, 1 relay, 1 switch, TAC or the ECM. That doesn't help? Did you scroll down to the bottom:
There are 2 ignition 1 voltage circuits supplied to the Engine Control Module (ECM). The first ignition circuit is provided by the powertrain relay, through a fuse. This ignition 1 voltage circuit supplies power to all the internal ECM circuits associated with the throttle actuator control (TAC) operation. The second ignition 1 voltage circuit is supplied by the run/crank relay through a fuse, and is used to power the remaining internal ECM circuits. If the ECM detects a voltage difference between the 2 ignition 1 voltage circuits, DTC P1682 will set.

Sounds like an exact way to diagnose & the solve to me. My money is on the TAC not being plugged in correctly.

Thanks PNW!

I'll look into it headed out the door to work right now.

As for the Tahoe, I was able to get it home and it starts up fine with no crank issues. Will have to wait and see. Gone for the next couple of days.

Appreciate you

If it was all ok before you did the update work I would completely recheck all of that and hope that is it. Sometimes when you plug connections back together one side of a pin, male or female, can push out of the connector holder and cause an intermittent connection problem.

it's not from the tune so just put that out of your head.
I would check your fuse box first, check for any loose relays or fuses as that is usually the source of the problem, it could also be the ignition but I would say it is less likely

Wes, I have not been involved with a "tune" yet but is there any chance that during the process anything at the fuse box, either under the dash or under the hood or anything to do with the ignition, is touched during the process? I ask to learn and retain.

no the tune is loaded thru the obd port with a hand held programmer, it wouldn't have anything to do with the ignition circuit problem

Thank you sir. I was hoping it wasn't the updated canned tune.

I will dig under the hood and the dash when I get back home.

Appreciate you!

The Tahoe is also due for a battery, so I'll make sure that is also taken care of.
