The 2015+K2XX uses only 0W20. 5w20 should not be used in these vehicles. With that said I use 0w20 Mobil 1 EP.

True the manual does state 0w-20 but if one lives in a warm climate it makes no difference between the 5w or 0w. That’s only relevant in colder climates for cold starts

Actually last year the dealer put in 5w20 and another time they put in 5w30 by mistake. This was in the summer with temps in the mid to upper 90's. Both times I had loud ticking for about 45 seconds at start up. After it was drained out and 0w20 was put back in all was quiet again.

I am sure some dealers will look for any excuse not to do warranty work on a engine and wrong oil grade would be a good excuse.

All the dealer would have to do is point to the oil grade on the oil cap.

But to each it's own.

Good info. I just put this deal out here incase someone was using or had a another application for using this weight. I like chasing deals down and if I could help someone save a few bucks it’s a win win.
