He revs it to 4000 rpm and lets it sit there.....

" has to be in gear to rev higher" ?????

What a moron.

Really, was it a dog? How'd you like the 8.1?
Was your Avalanche a daily?
I really like the 6.0/4l80 combo, same as my old HD pickup. Don't do much if any towing but future work I will be towing smaller loads.

It drove great but the rpm drop while towing was really noticeable. I put 139k on that Av in 10 years. Loved it, sorry I had to get rid of it. Rust issues.

Thanks, appreciate the info. I think the 4l80 was only available in 07.

That would be a fun family hauler, especially with all the seats facing every other direction haha.
hey no fighting

Really why would you want this heavily modified SUV. It obviously was used as a SSV for many years. The mid seats are permanently mounted in ez access position for agents to dismount.

Easier to just buy a used 2500 and put a whipple in it.

I see a GREAT family vacation hauler.

The opposed 2nd row seats are ideal for younger kids on a road trip. It'd be hard for them to fight when they're already facing away from each other. The sideways 3rd row seat nearest the 2nd row is ideal for mom or dad (whichever isn't driving) to be able to access either kid in the 2nd row should they need a little "regulation". The other 3rd row seat farthest to the back is for the moody teen to stay isolated from the rest of the "annoying/uncool" family that just doesn't "get" him/her. This leaves the front passenger seat and floorboard open for ice chest and box of snacks for dad to hand out as needed. It's a 2500, so it'll haul whatever, even if just a small cargo trailer carrying the fam's luggage. Oh- the roof hatch? Slide it open while in motion and threaten to jettison the "trouble child" if they don't straighten up.

A compelling case, for sure!

This is 100% a used USSS or DoS DS vehicle. Nice find!

Because, Roger, because!

Secret Service, that thing was used every day with 130K on it. It traveled all over the world in military transports protecting our presidents, what history.
Exactly James--Why WOULDN'T you want it?? Could you imagine the goodies you'll find under the seats when you'll vacuum?
