I have a 2016 Tahoe LT also, and I just finished re-upgrading my lights. I originally installed some LED bulbs, but the light pattern was near impossible to keep from blinding oncoming traffic. I finally swapped the LED’s out for an HID system, and I also went ahead and upgraded my fog lights to an LED fixture while I was at it. I’ve been very pleased with the outcome! I used the HID Elite system and the LED fog lights both made by Morimoto, and I purchased both thru TheRetrofitSource.com. I’ve used Morimoto before and they’ve always worked great, and they have a great warranty too. I went with the 35W ballast and the 5,500K bulbs to match my DRL plus the fog lights only come in 5,500K. If your headlights have projectors for low beams like mine, make sure you get the H11B bulbs (instead of H11A).

This may be a dumb question but what is the difference between HID and LED? Your post sounds like what I'm aiming to do.

Also dumb question, how do I know if I have projector low beams or not? I assume ours are the same if they are both 2016 LT models?

Welcome from Virginia. Leveling can be done either way. Raise the front or drop the rear. It’s a matter of taste. I prefer lower but not everyone does. As long as it’s done right there’s not much risk going either way. Both can be done in your garage there are tons of posts here.

I had thought about if that was possible to level the back, thanks for the tip.

Why do these trucks come stock with the front lower than rear? IS that typical of other SUVs? I'm just wondering if there is a good reason to leave it alone?

So the cable adapter will have that led strip act as daytime running lights? Will it automatically turn on?

do you have a link to what I need to purchase?
Yes. And @cmatt should be able to get with you about the purchase since is the cable adapter builder for these.

Tint varies by state law. Check what yours is on driver windows. In Virginia they police it pretty well. We can have 50% no darker. I did this for a living for a while and had to inform people of the law. Most shops carry 3M or Llumar which have lifetime warranties. Don’t use autozone.

Another question I thought of. I noticed my iPhone 10S will not charge with the charging pad, is there an easy fix for this?

Search for GM 13521066 and make sure it has the adapter. 30 minute job. Your Gen 1 module will not charge the latest and greatest. I did this upgrade last year and I can charge 8m X and 11. Someone had an XR which charged in it last week to my surprise since it is wider than the pad.

The main difference that I’ve experienced is the light pattern. I’ve tried 2 different LED bulbs and both had the same problem...the light coming from the headlights was scattered. When you aim your low beams, you basically draw a “+” on a wall in front of your car and there shouldn’t be any light in the top left hand corner. This is to keep from blinding on coming traffic; however, the light from the LEDs didn’t have a clean line on top. The HID lights are just as bright, but the light makes a clean horizontal line at the top. This means I have concentrated light where I need it, but no stray light beams blinding traffic.

As for projectors, there are reflector style and then projector style. I’ll try to put pictures of the two below...
