I have the most strange exhaust? Dutch Tahoe

exhaust appears to be a factory setup but what looks strange to me is the way the tail pipe exits the rear....all the NBS Tahoes I have seen have the exhaust exit below the rear quarter panel on the passenger side (see pic below) vs your setup is exiting straight out under the bumper....makes me wonder if it was pieced together from some other GM factory exhaust setups?

this is all i could find relating to your exhaust. as its noted that it replaces the dual outlet muffler. as its specifically noted im assuming certain places had that style exhaust on the tahoes when they were shipped there. kind of like how here in the states you have some vehicles with extra cats on them if they had the California exhaust. i can't see the purpose but its possible. vehicle has to have some stupid tweek so it meets some guideline to be sold there from the factory but doesn't apply to the end consumer. also probably hence why you cant buy that particular exhaust.

I don't see any reason you couldn't just put whatever you like on there as a replacement if you go with a smaller muffler then it most likely will have a louder exhaust sound, I put a borla on mine but it is much louder than a stock muffler

Yes I noticed that too. I've a theory for that, that might actually be a fact. The Netherlands is the land of people cycling. And next to many roads there a cycling lanes (I've been to America and you guys do not seem to have that). It would mean all the exhaust fumes would blow to the cyclists. When you look at German cars, when they only have a single muffler it will always exit on the left side back of the car. If you look at Japanese cars, it's very common that the exhaust exits on the right side back (they drive on the wrong side of the road, just like the English people:rolleyes:). But in America they just don't give a **** :banplease:.

Yes I understand what you tell. Every country has other rules at the end. I'm not afraid that I can't fix my exhaust, but the measurements just seemed weird to me, but that is just how they did it at GM, maybe they had some parts laying around:p
I'm thinking about straight piping it after the cats, so no muffler. But I've to stay under 95 + 2 decibels for the MOT. But from what I've seen on Youtube, it does not sound extreem loud without a muffler, but it's always hard to say from a video.

Yes you're right mate. As long as I keep the decibels under a certain level at a certain RPM, that will be tested with the MOT. As well as different things in the exhaust fumes but the muffler should not really help with that?

My truck runs on LPG btw, that is very common to do with the American cars here in The Netherlands, you've to be rich to drive a American on patrol here :p And it's actually a very clean combustion. Most of the fumes you see is water or condensation of that :)

i ran a magnaflow 3in cat back to a 3in flowmaster 40 3in out and it sounded nasty. but that was on a 94 non vortec 350. straight piping is generally pretty loud if your concerned about db i wouldn't straight pipe it. even if it does stay under the db levels your area requires it increases the likelihood you would get pulled over regularly. some headers and a nice full exhaust setup will get you a nice sound but keep the levels controlled.

how much is the petrol there? and how much is the propane?

From my post in June:
''Well compared to gasoline I pay around €0,64 per liter gas or €1,60ish for gasoline per liter; €2,90 per gallon LPG or €7,26 per gallon gasoline. LPG is actually a cleaner fuel. But can sense some lag of power when driving on LPG.''

My wife's 2005 5.3 had the same thing. I went with a 3" single inlet dual 2.5" outlet magnaflow, and it sounds AWESOME !
