Has anyone looked into installing a push button electronic start system in 03 Tahoe/etc.? I have an idea, but not sure if it would work. As a marine mechanic, I have multiple tools we call “roll over “ buttons, used to check timing, and used to check cylinder pressure of the block during a compression test. If hooked up the same way, to the starter, with the keys installed in the ignition, with the turn of the keys, the computer should turn all all needed sensors and what not as usual. But, would holding the button down, engaging the starter Fire the truck up, or would it only roll the starter, as turning the key to the start position, may turn fuel management, fuel delivered and what not on, and without turning the key, it would not do the same?
Just curious, as I know when the key it turned to the Acc. position, fuel pump kicks up the fuel rail pressure, and runs 3-5 seconds as it should.
Any help would be appreciated. Would love to have a push button start in my 03!
