I have a couple questions (I'm becoming frustrated and discouraged)

Recently I did some work (new front brakes, new CV axle, new wheel bearing hub) and while I was at it I switched the rear to Bilstein 5100 shocks. Looked like it already has new coil springs in the rear so I left those in. I had been getting that service suspension message so I decided to go with the swap. Front has already been done prior to me purchasing vehicle.

Anyways, I snipped the connector to old air shocks and wired a 3.9 ohm 25 watt resistor into each side. I still get the service suspension message. It annoys me. Did I forget to do something?

Another question I have is regarding stance of vehicle. Thought after putting in New rear shocks I'd lose the rear end sag. It still appears to be sagging the same as before I switched. Can some one measure their stock setup from ground height to bottom of hitch receiver and possibly ground to center of the bottom of the front bumper cover?

I’m not sure what suspension RPO codes you have, but assuming you had some kind of auto-leveling before, the springs likely need replaced with something more substantial. I was planning on getting rid of the Nivomat shocks on my Yukon, and that requires stronger springs, to avoid sag. The springs are what’s holding the rear height. The shocks just absorb the bumps.

I originally ordered a set of MOOG that were apparently the heavy duty part for Tahoe but they looked so dainty and weak that i sent them back and ran with these that were in it. I hope I can figure out what I'll need to get rid of this godforsaken sag. I want to put a little lift in the back eventually as well.

If you don't want to swap springs right now you could just install a spacer under the rear springs for now.

As for the service suspension warning. I would check all your connections that you made to the resistors and also check the plugs on top of the frame rail up near the upper bolts for the rear shocks... although when those get unplugged it usually causes an ABS/Stabilitrac light to stay on.

Did the PO lower it? Did you notice shock extenders out back? As Ken stated use spacers to lift the rear for now.

I don't think they lowered it however they previously converted the front to Sunoco standard and it looks like they might have been adjusted up to level the front

Is the leveled front making the rear look like its sagging?

That's what I'm starting to wonder. Wondering what the distance from the bottom of the hitch receiver to the ground is on someone who is running a factory setup for comparison

See if there is a round spacer above the strut assembly or a block under the shocks with the j-nuts missing. These are the most common way to level a truck.

Looks like the front is lifted. If the compressor is bad that can cause the service suspension message as well even if you don't want to use it. Though, I don't really get the point of buying an Escalade and removing the good stuff from it to each his own.
