This is how I did it,

Just like Mike said, separate the cup holder from the body like the picture below. I used the $9.99 rotary tool from Harbor Freight to do all the modding needed. It is time-consuming using the Harbor Freight tool, I suggest using a Dremel tool instead, it will be faster.

Mark the long end 4-3/16" from the opposite end and cut thru the entire side. If the cut does not come out straight use a 12" file and file the cut until you get it straight.

Mark both ends 2-1/4" from the end you just cut and cut out to the edge of the cup holder. If the cut does not come out straight use the file and file the cut until you get it straight. 20190702_152051.jpg

Now remove all the tabs that keep the cup holder from being flush with the center console.

You are almost done, the last thing to do is drill a hole on each cup holder. this will hold the cup holder down on the center console.

Install the cup holder and drill the holes on the center console using the cup holder as a guide.

Nice work..... 1st thing I noticed on my Yukon was the cup holders are too shallow.
My Infiniti has a 2-tiered holder. It is about 3 inches deep, but it has a button on the edge that drops the bottom, open / downward to make it 6 inches deep. Kinda like a hidden compartment when it is up.
