I am new to this site and if I post in wrong area about this topic I apologize in advance, just need some advisI have a 2011 Yukon Denali AWD. 186k. I recently returned from trip and noticed when coming to a stop, right before it stopped it would shift into and out of gear. Drove home checked fluid was 1 quart low.
Also fluid was discolored (dark brown). So done a flush and filter change. Still done the same thing at most all stops. Also had some shudder at speeds 40 to 50. So I had a complete flush done at dealership hoping that would fix. Just wasted $200. While I was at dealership a scan was completed and no codes at all were showing up. So I had the torque converter replaced with HD converter yesterday. Shudder is completely gone but still goes in and out of gear at stops. Seems to be less harsh now though. Outside of that, Trans is perfect runs strong no slippage shifts perfect up shift and down shift. I felt like if trans was bad it would slip or something. Between flush and torque converter already out $1100. Just don’t wanna buy new trans if I don’t need to. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum Brandon.

Transmissions are not my area of expertise, but there are a lot of folks that have in-depth knowledge here.

How long have you owned the vehicle?

Welcome Brandon,

Did anyone perform a control solenoid cleaning with their scan tool? How about the Service Fast Learn Adapts? It may be time to rebuild your solenoids which you can do in the driveway for about $40 plus fluids. I'm not yet seeing your exact symptom in the shop manual but am headed for the rack and too tired to keep looking. Search this forum, you'll find the guys who recently rebuilt theirs.
