Buddy finally got around to it. He has the bottom end apart to replace the oil pump. Before doing that he checked lash on the crank--he said the crank walked. So--pretty much, if he did the work he was gonna do for me it would eventually lock up. So his advice is get another motor or rebuild this one.

Damn that sucks, sorry to hear that, you going to fix it?

If your going the used motor route get something from a junkyard that offers some kinda warranty on the motor, most usually do at least around a year here

Opportunity, yes--but I'm tapped out.
If your going the used motor route get something from a junkyard that offers some kinda warranty on the motor, most usually do at least around a year here

I'd be reusing that cam most likely, so the warranty would be null and void.

do you have any LKQ'S out there, i know they offer warranties depending on the millage of the engine.
