I have a 2019 Yukon XL Denali. Recently it has been having trouble reading the alarm FOB. I have to get really close to arm, disarm the alarm or use remote start. Sometimes while driving my vehicle it will state no remote detected. It happens with both remotes. I have had it about a year and it started about two months ago. This is my 5th of the exact same vehicle. Never had an issue.

After replacing the batteries in both FOB’s I took it to my dealer. He reprogrammed the system but it did not fix the issue. He then replaced the receiver in the vehicle. It did not fix the problem. He is now ordering me new FOB’s because he is out of ideas. Anyone ever have this issue or have any other ideas? Thank you.

Same issue with my '18 Tahoe. I need to be fairly close to the vehicle for the FOB to communicate. Very frustrating.

My 2019 Denali has the same issue. Not only does my remote have to be within inches of the door sometimes, but even when sitting in the drivers seat the vehicle will occasionally display a message "no key fob detected". I've been through 6 visits to my dealer with all the usual reprogramming and FOB replacement tasks and last visit replaced the drivers side receiver per the service bulletin. Still sucks. I have to assume that GM made an "improvement" to the system in 2018.

Came across something interesting. I was having key FOB distance issues with my 18 Tahoe from day one. I decided to buy a bluedriver OBD scanner and found several BCM codes. To make a long story short I cleared all the codes and realized recently the key FOB distance is amazing. Before had to be within 20 ft of truck and would have random messages saying key not in vehicle when it was. Now I can start it from 200 ft maybe more. Haven’t really measured. And the great part it works through my office window where it would not work before. So if anyone is having issues give that a try. Any scanner that will read BCM codes (the b ones) will work.

I would think this was a fluke clearing the codes fixed the issue. The reason I say that is the dealer mechanics would surely clear the codes each time the vehicle is worked on for this issue. At least I would hope they do.

I really don’t know. The codes haven’t returned and it’s been working since. Several weeks now. Just wanted to make sure before I posted.
