Well you called Swath a GM Shill.....

Man up --- your funny--- We get people like you on this site all the time. Trash everybody everything than stand back and say wasn't me....

Look, I buy American anytime I can. I understand it's a GLOBAL ECONOMY... some vehicles/parts are built in canada and mexico, etc. We are a GM family and still are.

I have seen firsthand Forced Technology in China. The Automotive supplier I worked for had to sign over their tech and only allowed to own 45% of the JV in Shanghai.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I finally get it! Apostrophes as quotation marks, Imogen Heap references....You're British! Welcome to the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave! A few things you should know here:

1. Americans use quotation marks ("), not apostrophes ('), unless we're nesting one set inside the other. In which case, the quotation marks go on the outside. I know this is backwards for you, but it's the rule.

2. Even on your side of the pond, periods go inside the quotation marks. Always.

3. As Americans, we are proud to like American things. It doesn't mean we exclusively like American things. It does mean that sometimes we like them for what others may consider to be less than logical reasons. Even more confusing, your reasons may be different from mine or James's. Yours may be that Consumer Reports gave it a high mark. James's may be based on a long history of positive experience. Mine may be that it's red, white, and blue with a screaming bald eagle on it.

What's worse, these reasons' validity are alarmingly subjective.

Take Consumer Reports. You argue the strength of its unbiased reviews. James says otherwise. Who's right? Maybe both of you! On one hand, people have trusted their product testing for a long time and they have endured through some tough times. On the other hand, one of those times was a House Committee accusing them of Communism by interfering with free markets.

Even more recently, members of the Board (Ralph Nader ), condemned the founder for his stance against lobbying and litigation when he wanted them to stick to product testing. And let's not forget that said founder happened to be a Chicago University alumn who formed the Consumer Union as a result of an organized labor dispute!

Okay, okay...a little much, I know, but...

A provincial shill with confirmation bias? Get real. More like a zealous supporter of a brand with which he has been well pleased for decades, born of the Country he loves. One who participates enthusiastically in a group formed on the love of GM trucks. Just a reminder of where you are....again.

Me? Red. White. Blue. The Bible. Bald Eagles. Red Steaks. Guns. 13+ year old GMs. Tell me how wrong I am. o_O

Rad!

But I assure you, I’ve never claimed you or some others here were ‘logical’...

Ok so you can’t quote me trashing GM....Only trashing fanboys.

Sorry. Fanboys are a pet peeve of mine. If you like them that’s cool.

Edit: HiHoe, your grammar lessons are needed...

I have better things to do with my time

But here is an example

PG 60

"I had my factory fresh Denali paint corrected. GM paint is a mess out of the factory."

That’s a fact ask any detailer. Paint correction on GM’s is not uncommon.

If you’re going to label me something for being truthful, that’s on you. If it really hurts your feelings, block me. Simple.

Again with the apostrophes. Smh.

Its says "less than logical."

P.S. See how the period goes inside? ;)

Less than? You sure you’re not confusing apostrophes with parenthesis? Maybe apostrophes indicate ‘less than’ but not that I can recall.

And yes. I completely understand how to use quotation marks. I use apostrophes to indicate a paraphrase or as emphasis.

Funny you are concerned about someone using poor grammar but slip right past someone who thinks humans rode dinosaurs lol.

I'm sure. I was referring to your assurance that you didn't call anyone logical. I know. That's my point. The sentence reads,

"It does mean that sometimes we like them for what others may consider to be less than logical reasons."

e.g. You thinking decades of satisfaction or bald eagle decals are less than logical reasons to defend a brand.

I beg to differ. Also, that's what italics are for. Not apostrophes.

Lol. Not concerned, really. Just a pet peeve of mine. Think of it like your aversion to "fanboys."

If the Flintstones have taught us anything, it's that humans did, in fact, ride dinosaurs. So there.
