Welcome back from Bay Ridge Brooklyn&Miami Beach Junior!

If parking was not such a hassle in Miami and Brooklyn I would have got a Yukon XL or a Suburban. Even the garage in Brooklyn...Century 21 parking garage on 88th street in Bay Ridge and even in the Port Authority in Manhattan...at certain times of the day gets very tight. I glad the Bridgeview Diner has parking.

Hopefully you are one of the lucky ones who have off street parking in Brooklyn.

I got a daughter up in Oneonta NY so ill be doing some traveling from NYC

A friend lives in Unadilla. I am surprised to hear a lot of people from the city are moving up to that neck of the woods.

Make sure you get ALL service records and go on a nice long test drive. I would have a good independent mechanic put the vehicle on the rack to check everything out . It would be peace of mind for me.

Really do your research, not just here. They have issues. Not small ones either. (radiator, ac condenser, Torque converter, transmission, vibrations, booming in cabin) Really unacceptable stuff for a new vehicle! These trucks were over 70K ! I have owned 4 of the new trucks and had many issues with all of them. The last 2 being a 2015 Denali XL and a 2017 Denali XL. Way too many issues for that kind of money. I actually went into a new Mercedes, BUT bought a 2013 Suburban LTZ as our second vehicle. The LS platform is a winner in my opinion if comparing them. I can understand anyone wanting to upgrade and especially taking advantage of all the new safety features...which were fantastic. But having owned them I would look at the competition before GM presently.

You paid 70K? LOL, you think the these trucks have issues just wait on that MB. We have a well sorted last year produced 2016 e350, and I have never had so many ticky tack shit failures happen. Luckily under warranty, because it would have been thousands. Gotta love the a/b service for 300 or 600 for a friggin oil change to keep your warranty! Give me a full size GM any day - there is a reason they own the market. I have had them for 20 years, and most bitching comes from car people who expect a truck (read body on frame) to be a car. They need station wagons (aka crossovers)...

What exactly is your point on what the truck cost? It was bought in 2017 below sticker, no incentives as in today? Yes I KNOW they have huge issues. I had them. I have been a GM truck owner for 30 years, and this last generation is a disaster. The 2015 Denali was in warranty over 14 times. Thats how the deal came up for a 2017 Denali. Doubled down and it was a mistake. Started the warranty dealer game again. Not small stuff either. Transmission was out of the truck 2 times. The list was ridiculous. Sorry Buddy, when you are replacing an AC compressor one month, and a radiator 6 months later, then a AC condenser (which was on national backorder it was such a huge problem) then your trans is coming out for the second time and you only have 30,000 miles on your truck........its a piece of garbage! It wasn't a bad truck. It was 2 bad trucks and forums full of guys just like me.
I have owned several LS based trucks never had anything worth talking about. I love new stuff just as much as the next guy. I will say the safety was top notch. But quality for that price was not there.
I have owned 4 S550's and 3 E class over the years. Yes a couple of stupid annoying issues but never a big failure. I over maintain everything I own. I am well versed in peoples fear of German cars...I don't share in that opinion. Yes I was bit hard once in my 750 BMW...definitely left a mark, and a dent in my bank account. There is no comparing a Denali to an S550...Different worlds, its just what I traded into. Its worth the money to me. The truck wasn't. Still needed a truck and went back to what I feel is a cheaper, more reliable keep for a GM vehicle..a 2013 Suburban. After 2 flops and a lot of money, even being a GM guy, I will be cautious of the 2021 models.
BTW not doing your A/B service at the dealer does not void your warranty. Not doing it does. When you own a Mercedes you don't complain about the cost, you knew that when you bought it. You maintain it and enjoy the ride. Quit bitching like a truck guy who expects his Mercedes to be as cheap as his Chevy.
