previous owner of my truck deleted the running boards. however they left part of the hardware in the rocker pannels. I am painting truck and need to figure out how to remove those pieces of hardware. Specifically the rocker molding braket HERE on GM Parts Direct.

The former owner clipped heads off of whatever it was. I tried drilling them out with little luck. I stupidly pushed a couple into the panel but fear those will rattle now. Anybody know how I might remove these clipped of fasteners?

Pics and video below.

If they are magnetic you could push them all thru and then cut a hole half way between the front and rear of the rockers and reach in with a flexible wand magnet and the ends will attract to the magnet and you can pull them out. You then have to patch the cut hole along with the other holes exposed where you pushed them thru.

I worked some more on these. slowly cutting them off and pushing them through into the rocker panel. I didnt realize, there are drains on the rocker panels. they head of the fastener falls right out the drains. aside from being tedious, is quite easy.
