Thank you. I can't find anything in my Owner's Manual that states the fluid capacity of either differentials, And there's no mention of what kind of fluid goes in the rear differential which in my case is a "Limited Slip" Differential. Now it's been awhile since I've owned a vehicle with a limited slip unit, but when I did it took special oil to keep the rear end working in a silence. So that is another pint that isn't mentioned in my manual.

Can someone tell me the capacity of the 2 differentials for my truck. Thank you !

Your front differential and transfer case is the same as ours, so the TC takes 1.6 Quarts of Dexron VI and the front differential takes 1.51 Quarts of 75W90 Full Synthetic. Basically on these two you fill them until it starts dripping out.

Now for the Salisbury 12-bolt, I do not know it's capacity, but you would fill it to just under the fill hole or at most 1/2 inch below. Curiously this one specs for 75W85 Full Synthetic. Any additive needed for the Limited Slip would already be included in the factory fluid (GM OE or ACDelco).

I know it would take more than 2 quarts but probably less than three. Check out this link: https://www.yukongear.com/partslist...2+Bolt+Truck&CatID=84&CatName=Oil+&+Additives

Not all fluids are created equal!

Oh, there are two 12-bolt axles used on the K2s. I do not know whether or not this affects fluid capacity. The 9.5" is used on the 5.3 motors. The 9.76" is used on 6.2s and the pickups (maybe SUV?) with Max Trailering Package.

manual doesnt give capacity. :(

just ...

=Front
When the differential is cold, add enough lubricant to raise the level from 0 mm (0 in) to 3.2 mm(1/8 in) below the fill plug (1) hole..When the differential is at operating temperature (warm),add enough lubricant to raise the level to the bottom of the fill plug (1) hole.

=Rear
The proper level is 1.0 mm to19.0 mm (0.04 in to 0.7 in) below the bottom of the fill hole, located on the rear axle. Add only enough fluid to reach the proper level.
