OK, I have a tenant at my storage facility that comes in with his immaculate bright red Silverado paying rent every month. His wife sometimes makes the payment and I just now asked him if they may be interested in selling her white 2003 Suburban Z71. He says they had thought about it recently to get her something new.

This rig is white and is immaculate. Interior is immaculate. Has 100k miles. Great tires. No dents. No scratches. One owner. They have all repair and maintenance paperwork done at the dealer they bought it from.

This rig looks a bit like this only way better.

The only thing that has recently been done is the instrument cluster had gone out and he said the dealer wanted $900 to fix so his son bought a used cluster with 185k on it and installed it. He still has the old cluster. He has all paperwork to back up his actual mileage on the old cluster and is noted on the paperwork when he took to the dealer for an estimate.

I know that some will ask why I want this when I have a perfectly good Tahoe. I want the bigger rig at the right price and will keep both. I believe I can get this Suburban for anywhere between $7000 to $7500.

From how you described it, I'd pick that GMT800 over a GMT900 if I was fine with the older body style. The one your tenant has is a 4WD Z71?

You can get that original cluster professionally rebuilt for a few hundred bucks or less and have the current mileage programmed on it.

Yes, is a 4WD Z71. I know a local guy that can work on the cluster. I want to stay in the NBS era. Want to stay away from the AFM.

That’s a good deal for a 2003 with 4WD and 100k is pretty low mileage for a 16 year old SUV! If it’s well maintained and there aren’t any major issues with it, I say go for it! The extra space is a big plus to have, and the long wheel base trucks ride a little more smoothly in my opinion!

Getting all repair records and maintenance records is a huge plus. I have watched this Sub come in and out for several years now and it is always immaculate. This late in the year of 2019 means the Sub is actually 17 years old. At around 100k miles, I completely agree. One owner and I know him and I cannot wait to have him call me and get it back over here so I can get a chance to look under the hood, see records and roadtest.

Being able to acquire 2 rigs, a 2002 Tahoe and a 2003 Sub, bought at the same dealer about a 1/4 mile from me a year apart and knowing both owners from my storage facility and getting all records for both.......well I just think it is fate.

Yeah, not a bad price. I paid 10k for my escalade with right around 92k miles on it one owner, all records etc. So Price is fair. Also looks like that interior is in top notch quality! I just bought a white z71 burb myself, but its no where as clean as that.

Nice find. I'm also in OR. My son found an 04 Denali SWB with 72K down in Salem back in January. He wanted my 02 Yukon SLT and I wasn't giving it up. LOL. Smart kid...

honestly at that price they are taking you for a ride it's only worth 3000 to 3500 at the most at lest that is what NBS 6.0L 4x4 are going for around here for the same mileage but gas is still 4$ a gallon
those 4x4 6.0L only get 6-8 miles a gallon in the ACTUAL real metro area..

I was barely able to pull 13 on a v6 3.8l in a real life city Environment

come down to California and get one at 1/2 the price .. i'm not buying the idea that the dealer wanted 900$ to fix considering there is plenty of aftermarket repairs for $250 or less

at 15 years old rubber parts are going to need replacement remember rubber ages by years gone by not miles... just make sure the seller goes with you to the DMV to make sure the title is clear first if they refuse don't buy it..

That CL ad i would be suspicious those seats have very little wear on them for 138k might have been flooded out at some point and replaced..

I have seen a NNBS 2007 with new looking seats upon further review there was rust

everywhere under the driver side footwell all the peddles etc. were covered in rust
even the seat frames were rusted to hell...

The rig in the pic is for comparison. The one I am talking about looks like it. It is a 5.3 engine.

The husband called back and said his wife is dragging her feet for now till after the first of the year. So the sale is on hold for now but he said he would talk to her and let me know asap.

The rig was bought right down the street from me and one owner. It has no rust. I am in Oregon in the Willamette Valley where rigs do not rust.

I thought the price was about 1-2K high, but that's compared to my area, which values tends to be 1-2K lower than those up north. Them not being in a rush just gives you more time to research values and save up a little more for purchase or mods.
