EXACTLY what happened to mine with I threw a 0305 (cyl 5 misfire) code. only happened once; never again. Have the code read as others suggest and if it doesn't happen again, don't worry about it.

thanks yukonxlman...after I get code read i'LL post results...I have this strange feeling that they wont find any codes
thrown when they put it on a scanner....we shall see.

check the battery cables they are known to become loose and cause a bunch of issues. on 2008 and 2009..(they need to be nice and sung )
they updated the cable for 2010-2013

Old battery or weak battery can cause Check engine lights as well..

check the ground terminals they are daisy chained (slight amount of corrosion can cause a high resistance connection)

the chassis ground plane crosses a High electrical resistance object (the engine)

I was chasing a bunch of issues turned out my battery was bad it got to the point where the engine stalled out.. from an autostop resume.

it sucked because i was making a left turn on a HIGHWAY that is 55mph luckily I had the Green arrow light at the time.

thanks BG...will do the simple checks before I lug this thing to the dealership...and yeah that engine likes to "autostop"
when it wants to....crazy how fast you feel the deceleration!

While you are considering the Tech 2, pick up a cheap bluetooth OBD dongle for like $20. If you are willing to learn how you can pull a shit-ton of stuff with these. Current codes, pending codes, history codes, old codes, intermittent codes. Plus live data.

Disclaimer here: I have only dealt with older vehicles that used only the J1850 class 2 bus. Not sure about the Can-bus, GM-Lan systems. Surely someone here knows.

Just remember to start simple. As of today no issues. If you want to look for codes FYI that’s great just don’t start in the middle and work back to simple. Helps your wallet and sanity. Good luck.
