What's with the rear brakes on these trucks ?
New pads, new rotors, and within 20,000 miles, the pads loose full contact. The rotor starts rusting, and now only partial pad contact.

This has been on every GM SUV I owned.

2nd on the guide pins need lube and new boots. Not saying that’s it, but it has those symptoms. Do you run the anti rattle clips on the mount ears of the pads?

Check your guide pins and make sure they move freely and also make sure your pad hardware is in good shape...

Also make sure your pads are on correctly, there is an inside and outside pad. Whoever had done mine previously(before I owned it) put them on incorrectly, Shape wise they fit, but there are rivets on the backside that hit the piston(if it's on the wrong side)

Funny (NOT) I had the same problem. I bought the Tahoe used from a Chevrolet dealer that did the brakes too.

Oh it killed me, I couldn't for the life of me figure out why I couldn't get the caliper back on, finally just took a break and went to watch youtube videos, and sure enough apparently this is a common error
