I have an aftermarket radio in my 04 tahoe, was all in it when I bought it. its not the correct adapter for the bosch premium setup, as its pretty loud with the volume on 1. I'm also fighting alternater noise sometimes. depends on what bump you hit! been thru all the connections and just want to replace this box with something that'll actually work with the factory amps. whats recommended?

Pretty much the best of the best is the iDatalink Maestro. Less than that would be the ones from PAC and Axxess. In general, I prefer the ones from PAC. They all have various models to support whatever factory features you have and/or want to retain.

What adapter do you have? Some have regular line-level speaker inputs as well as RCA inputs intended for low-level input from the aftermarket HU's RCA outputs. I've seen one where you cut off the RCA connectors and connect the HU's speaker wires to them. I think you may flip a switch to set it for low- or high-level input. You may just need to splice some RCA ends back onto the wires or flip a switch.

Recently changed to an aftermarket h.u. myself and went thru a couple different adapters.

IDatalink only offers swc for 03-06. So only other options would be PAC rp5-gm11 or the Axcess gmos-04.
I have an 03 Yukon XL Denali with premium Bose amp. I liked using the gmos-04 except that it doesn’t have the audio outputs for the factory rear entertainment.
The PAC rp5-gm11 did, so that’s the one I stuck with.
Difference between the two is the PAC has everything built in except for the chime box (that doesn’t necessarily need to be to b connected) including swc, whereas the Axcess has the swc seperate but wiring included in the harness. Chimes worked on both adapters as it sounds thru speakers, so never connected with the PAC.
Hope this helps you out!

ended up with the PAC rp5-gm11. works great once I got it installed. had a little trouble finding the red power wire to hook to the radio, until I found it tucked under the tape around the wire bundle.
