Thanks guys. I really appreciate the sincerity and kind words. It means a lot.
Dan always talked about suicide. I’ve told him to call me when it crossed his mind. Or at least call someone. But he told me that when your contemplating killing yourself, the last thing you want is for someone to try to talk you out of it. But he’s always told me that he wouldn’t do it while his mom was still alive. She is the one who had to identify him. Just a tragic situation.
I seen this post on Facebook from him the day before he did it, but he wouldn’t pick up his phone or return my call.

He waited for his mom to go to Walmart which is like 25 minutes from his house. He drove his truck down the road away from his house and pulled over and called 911. Told them he was gonna kill himself and gave them his location then hung up. Sat on the side of the road next to his right front tire and took a shotgun to his head. His poor mom was driving home and seen the road block and told the officer she lived right down the street. He asked for ID and then seen it was same address as Dan’s ID. That’s when they told her and had her identify him as her son. That’s ****** up and I’m pissed that he let it happen that way. Suicide is such a selfish act. All it does is pass the persons problems on to others.

We’ve taken on my other buddy’s dog. It’s a little frenchy named Lenny. My daughter has really taken a liking to him. His wife doesn’t feel safe at her house so she’s staying with her parents and I think she talked them into letting the dog come too. So Julianna is gonna have to let go of her new friend in the next day or two.

Absolutely terrible. It’s hard not to be angry they were so selfish. My ex did this. I was fighting for custody of my kiddo just months before. She decided at 18 months that I should be her only parent. What a horrible thing to do to your child, and everyone in your life.

Wow, I’m sorry that happened to you and your child. That’s a tough situation to deal with. Appreciate you sharing and I can only hope that your daughter can forgive her mother and that you have had the ability to step up to the challenge of being the role model she needs. Thoughts and prayers to your family.

Thanks man, I’m good. I had a lot to figure out and deal with, but it just made me stronger. I’ve dealt with my thoughts and feelings about it, and just recently told my daughter how her mom died. Had her seeing a counselor for a while to help get through it. It’s just something that’s hard for most of us to grasp. How the hell could you do that to your loved ones. Anyway, I’m sorry, not trying to hijack, or look for sympathy. My daughter is the best thing to ever happen to me, she turns 12 tomorrow! [emoji106][emoji16] God Bless you and Dan, his family and friends and all who are affected by this terrible tragedy.

Man your daughter is a stunning beauty!! Reminds me of my daughter a few years younger. She turns 11 on Halloween and the party planning has turned into kids and parents (no drop off) at over 30. Thanks Mrs. Fosscore!!! lol

Thx for sharing your loss as the mental health issues are beyond what most people even realize. Sorry for your loss and shock. I hope you find the road to peace. Plenty or support here on TYF, even from afar a kind word or shared story can go a long ways to assisting in moving forward.

There is always someone to talk to.... no matter what. Even the comfort of a stranger from afar can bring solace with a shared event. All the best to you and your family moving forward.

No, don’t even think twice about hijack or sympathy. This is not my personal book. This is just sharing what I enjoy doing and any and all comments are welcome here. We are all here because of our passion for vehicles but we are all human beings too. You have no idea how grateful I am that you were willing to jump in and share that. I felt like I kinda put myself out there sharing my personal life that wasn’t about nuts and bolts and you made me feel like it’s ok to have screwed up personal issues. We all do at times. So thanks for that. I won’t make it a common thing though. Hopefully!!
Anyway, happy 12th birthday to your daughter and I know what you mean about the best thing to happen to you. Thanks again brother.
