yes there is a button to turn it off standard equipment

That just resets the light if there is a malfunction and it wont turn off. The stabilitrak "relearns" every time the vehicle is started- it does a diagnostic at that time.
Awh OK so if you push the button and hold it for about 5 seconds it turns the stabiltrak system completely off. Only thing is it turns on the yellow dash light. With it off though I can drift pretty effectively, I like it, great tip thanks. might look into teh actual tech2 thing later it does not bother me too much I will just turn it off when if I wish to drift.
if you pull some fuses you can do burn outs as well.

YES-....I have an 08 hybrid...large tire wheel combo...28 x 10-295/25/28...and this has happened several times to me as well....steep on ramps...sharp turns...engine shuts down...im thinking it has something to do with the tire wheel combinations were running in regards to angle/deflection and the stability track system...your thoughts??

strange issue...it seems to be happening more and more with my hybrid....least I don't panic anymore and relieved when the motor kicks back in!
I would take a look at the ground wires as well since GM just chain linked Bare braided aluminum wire from the body to the engine then insulated Copper to the battery this could add some resistance Ω
. esp for salty areas were things get rusty and corrosion etc..

it's not just that the engine block becomes a electrical resistor it self as the engine block warmed to 105C(maybe even slightly more ) will have more resistance then at 20C..
Yes the mass is BIG but still has some extra resistance
Basically they cut the corner not running a dedicated Copper Cable to the chassis from the battery...
I plan to do the big 1 upgrade on this
Battery to chassis with #2 or #0 copper wire gauge.. )
basically the 6 or 5 AWG braided aluminium cable is the weakest link in the chain...
in order to keep electricity happy you have to give it the path of lest resistance ( but electricity will get mad if it's shorted
)Also i would clean up the battery if it's old as the plastic housing can be come conductive over time (like a resistor)...
