Same here. I grew up in Harrisburg and eventually I was an emission and state inspector. Stupid laws, but there were a few good ones though, like ball joint tests. But I hate PA for many more reasons than the inspections, lol. Moving to Colorado was one of the best things I've done.

I bet @Rocket Man is right, and that Range device spoofs something for the AFM. When you remove it, that module shows "not ready". You need to drive it. You won't have any way to know the readiness state without a scanner, but usually 20-30 minutes or 40-50 miles will do it. Vary your driving and get her good and hot.
