If your strictly looking to save some $ and are completely happy with the 15 (no major issues etc at this point)....and assuming from the sound of your post that you still have a ‘note’ on the 15...you could always talk to your bank about refinancing the 15 to a lower monthly payment (wouldn’t save you any $ in the long run due to additional interest from a refi but could save you some decent $ in terms of a monthly budget).. just a thought.

Looking to downgrade from my 15 Tahoe LTZ with 99k miles. Looking at a 2010 Escalade with 89k miles. Asking price is $18.5k.

I’d prefer a Tahoe/Yukon but they are the same price as the Escalade.

So my questions is-does this seem like a good deal? How reliable are the older Escalades?

Should I just suck it up and keep the Tahoe?

If your not having problems with it, I would just keep it. I also have the 2015 Tahoe Ltz but unfortunately have had more issues then I would have expected for a truck this expensive. I’m trading my in just for different situation. If you decide to trade it in, look up what you want on the NHTSA website to see what kinds of issues people complained about and what kind of recalls there have been.

If you bump down to an older vehicle, you are going to be looking at a serious downgrade across the board...comfort, electronics, engine efficiency, reliability, etc. it might be a better option to keep the Tahoe, buckle down and try to pay it off, or a considerable chunk.
Is this your first kid? Trust me when I say that you'll make it work

Absolutely not true. We’re not talking downgrading to a 1980 big block Suburban here. The only thing that Tahoe has over that Escalade is fuel economy and some technology that doesn’t even work very well.
