Hey there, hoping you guys can help me with this one. My rear passenger's door won't open from the inside - but opens normally from the outside.

The child lock is off.

I pulled off the door panel, and when I pull the ball/wire for the interior unlock mechanism, I can hear it things working at the latch. But the latch won't actually open. Any ideas what's going on??

Thanks,
Cyrus

did you pull off the inside door handle and look to see if anything is broken? if it's not broken at the handle then maybe the latch is broken inside

I actually bought a new handle, but that wasn't the problem. The latch could be broken, but its strange to me that it opens normally from the outside. Any other ideas? Could the child lock mechanism be broken?

I am assuming you have confirmed that the cable is still connected to the lock actuator inside the door. If not, the noise you hear could be a loose cable end hitting stuff as you pull on the handle end. If you did, I would pull the lock assembly and see if everything is functioning properly and no tabs are broken or cables/rods disconnected.

Here is a good video showing the process.

Thank you! It turns out my cable had too much slack in it, and wasn't able to trip the actuator to unlock. I bent the bracket a bit on the actuator (to make the cable a little tighter on the lever), and now it's working fine. Weird problem I guess, but easily fixed.

Glad to hear it was something simple.
