Welcome to TYF! Be sure to post an intro in the appropriate thread and read the stickies before posting. :D

:p
Lame. I wouldn't trust that on a junkyard motor.

Some quality oem parts...
Started ordering everything so I could button this up and get it back in. I'm really only ordering gm/ac delco at minimum unless parts need to be specifically something else. But this is pretty bad. Oil pan, correct part number for my Yukon, has gm stamped in the side.
Shows up box is ****** mangled, half the bolts have fallen out on the way here- not really a big deal I have plenty of bolts. Take it out, looks like somthing someone returned, grease smudges all over it, gasket a little rough... I'm still in it, let's just get this crap done. Start looking at the pan casting and its just crap, that close-up pic is on the inside of the pan, one spot looks like someone welded it back together and I still tried to push through and use it, but I just cant.

That's an awful casting and whoever sent it should be ashamed of themselves.

Looking online and slightly worried about ordering another gm pan, not sure what would fit (engine has a windage tray that's pretty big) stock pan is about as low profile as I can use. And i know i cant fit a nice deep canton or moroso pan cause stock pan barely fits in truck.
Pan #2 called local dealership and they actually had one in stock so I ran over, box looked about as trashed so I asked to open it up and take a look before I bought is looks about a bajillion times better so I grabbed it. Cast shows kind of similar but there is little excess material left behind

Laid out for turbo drain need to find someone to tig it on this time. Threading pan worked fine but was close to pick up tube wanted to weld and taper in side.

Also engine is at shipping hub, no delivery till Monday though. To pick up I'd have to get shipper to reauthorize and crap so I'll have to wait :(

Seems to have been dropped during shipping....it was all still wrapped in plastic, unloaded it off semi into pickup truck, pulled truck up driveway, pulled that corner to throw lift plate on and noticed. Grabbed driver and showed him and we threw it back on semi. Dont know what other damage there was
