Just found out I have a bad baffle plate in my muffler. Rattles like hell, makes me want to pull my hair out. 98k miles. Told that my extended warranty does not cover. $1000 to replace. Not interested in aftermarket.

1. Should this be covered by GMC’s power train warranty?
2. Is $1000 excessive? I understand it is replacing from the converter to the tail pipe.

Thanks.

I have the stock muffler from my 2015 Yukon XL Denali as well. Not sure where you’re located, but if you pay shipping it’s yours.

You could take a stock OEM “take-off” muffler to any exhaust shop and they’d cut yours out and weld this in for <$75

It's not excessive in GM's eye's, they don't cut and weld in new anything, there only option is to replace the entire section, you could get a very comparable decent aftermarket muffler for a 1/3 of the price, no logical reason to NOT use aftermarket unless you just have lots of money in which case I'd love to have some too I accept donations

And it is for a 6.2l?

I wouldn’t know how much shipping would be.

I looked into it and since the stock system is so large shipping is >$250 making it not much cheaper then the dealer.

So if I went aftermarket I don’t want too loud. Wife was already unhappy when I went aftermarket for the air intake on her daily driver. Suggestions?
