Hello all,my 2001 GMC Yukon had the the dreaded abs light come on. Scanning it showed that drivers side front sensor is gone.I ordered a new one and replaced it this morning. It was an easy job and hub is clean(cleaned with a Q tip)but wasn't much dirt. The abs light is now off. Problem now is that on a normal easy stop, when it gets under 5mph,the abs activates. Anyone have any input on this? Scanner shows nothing now.

The abs sensor you put on is bad even though the code is gone, exchange it for a another one, it's either that or the other side is bad as well, a live data stream would confirm, but easier to just exchange the one you replaced

Hubs are not about a year old.No slop at all.
a scanner showing the abs feed will probably show some screwy readings on one sensor just as you are almost to stop, if it wasn't doing it before you replaced that one, then that is your suspect I have had it happen more than once with brand new sensors.

I have had an increase in sensor/electrical parts being Dead-On-Arrival in the past year or so. Not just on my vehicle but in my job where we design and build automated equipment. Not sure what’s causing it but I think companies are getting light on QC to get parts out the door to meet that months quota for the investors.

Latest update, replaced the sensor again and it is better but occasionally does the 5 mph activation (maybe once in 10 times). These abs sensors are standard motor products from rock auto which I use a lot and never had trouble with them before. I'm going to test it sometime this week to see if it shows any screwy readings as the other one didn't but we'll see.

SMP is a customer of mine and is coming to visit me this week. Should I rag him about your sensor? Lol
