Ball joints

for those who have done their ball joints, did you guys opt to replace the entire upper and lower control arms or did you replace just the ball joints? i do have a 12 ton press so doing either is no issue. just wondering what is better

If I had a largre press I'd definitely rebuild the arms. I've done both for various vehicles. Buying the arms is easier. Its easier to source high quality components (and generally less expensive) when you rebuild them though.

Did my upper arms and balljoints a few months back. RockAuto had the best price at the time. If I remember correctly it was about $20 for the bushings and $40 for the complete arm with balljoints. No press so went for the complete arm. Used MOOG and went together with no issues. Saved the old ones so if I ever change them again I'll prep them to go back in.
Don't forget to mark the position of the slotted washers on the control arm bolts like I didn't do

Keep in mind not all moog products are equal. The r series is Chinese junk just like other brands low budget options. The problem solver series is their good quality line.

It was the problem solver line. Used it for all the steering components too. Seemed like good stuff and was well made.
