My father in-law got a new truck, wants to scrap his 02 Sierra 4.8 4x4, body’s rotten but the tranny was rebuilt 2 yrs ago. He’s positive the transmission will swap (he’s an old school engine swap guy) with some modifications, floor shifter hi-lo.
My yukon is an 04 4x4 with push button shift hi-lo. Will it work?

I believe the 03+ yukons, Tahoe's etc should have the 4l80 but I could be wrong just going by memory, I couldn't use anything above a 02 on my 00 without extensive work and it had the crappy 4l60

The Tahoe Yukon and long wheel base trucks all the 4L60E in the 1500 packages. The 6.0 trucks like my Denali XL and the Escalades got the 4L65E trans which is slightly beefier. As far as I’m aware the only SUVs to get the 4l80 trans were the 3/4 ton burbs and Yukon xls.
