The TPMS light is coming on indicating a problem with my left front. The tire and pressure are fine. The light was off and on for a month or two, but is now on solid.

Given that the car is 10 years old, I'm guessing a battery problem. Are the batteries replaceable?

Thanks for any advice.

You're lucky they usually only last 6-7 years. No, the batteries are not replaceable. Do them all at once to save money.

Now, the light comes on, does the pressure on the dash for that tire read dashes or a crazy number? Or is the number normal?

The pressure for the L front is dashes. All others read correctly.

I agree that I'll replace all 4. Leaning toward just having the dealer do it, as opposed to buying the sensors and having Discount do them. My thinking is if I get them done at Discount and one or more won't program, then it will be a mess to take them off and return them, like to Amazon.

Just buy ACDelco sensors and have a tire shop do it to save money. They will program for sure. Stay away from the cheap aftermarket sensors.

Agreed. For sure, I wouldn't try any cheapo replacements. Given the way there are knockoffs for about everything, what is the best way to make sure it is genuine AC Delco and not just a knockoff duplicate even including the logo?

Do make sure you get the correct ones, IIRC there are two versions that transmit at different frequencies

Price. And buy from a reputable company. Look at their reviews. If it seems too cheap or too good to be true or there’s no reviews, stay away.

We had a list of known part numbers on here somewhere. 13598771 are in mine now, they are from a 2016 takeoff. 25920615 were my old ones which lasted 7 years and 2 months.

Just to follow up, I ended up driving into Discount Tire. They quoted me $60 per tire, parts and labor, using the VDO redi sensor. The total was about $200 less than the Chevy dealer, so I went for it. While doing the work, they found a screw in my LF and fixed that free. The sensors are working well and if I do end up with a problem, I only have one outfit to deal with.

Thanks again for all the good advice.
