possibly low freon or a bad low/high pressure switch im going to geuss. when your rpms go up obviously the pump will .... do its thing(loss of words too early yet). if your at the minimum amount of refrigerant it can build pressure to fast and run out of refrigerant to push along behind it. the low pressure sensor can be faulty and cause it to think thats the problem. the high pressure sensor could be getting weak and be triggering to easily and shutting the system down. soon as it stops building pressure the sensor resets and re-engages the clutch. im by no means an ac expert just going off things ive dealt with in the past. usually if the a/c works to some degree and only fails during a specific point i usually find one of those 3 items at fault.
