I have a 96 Tahoe with all factory drivetrain that I am planning on lifting 9 total inches and stuffing 38x14 tires under. I've got a few questions about doing a SAS and trans swap.

1. With the trans swap, I'm wanting to go with a 4l80 instead of the currently blown 4l60e. Ive looked around and found a few different options for kits and would like to know, what all will I need to complete this swap? Front driveshaft, and mounts I know, but anything else?

2. For the SAS. I'm wanting to use fairly large and wide tires, so would I be safe with a driver drop Dana 44 with 33 splines shafts, or should I go Dana 60?

3. Should I upgrade the rear axle as well, or just bump the shafts?

4. Following the axle upgrades, is there a t case that I should upgrade to, over the factory np243 case I've got now?

Any suggestions or ideas is greatly appreciated.

With the transmission swap, you can either convert your 4l60 plug to the 4L80E (4l80 has 2 less wires in use), or get an adapter plug that plugs right in.
