Think I'm trading Yukon Denali for Navigator.

Speaking of lines, I find the smaller explorer has poorer visibility overall. It's a similar situation as with most newer sedans that have the high back windows.

I took the rear seat head rests out for that same reason. ( Infiniti QX 50 )

But with rear wheel drive & 325 hp........ You want to know if that Trooper is taking off from the middle of the freeway!!

Really? It does 0-60 in exactly the same time as as an Escalade and faster than the Tahoe and Yukon...

I drove a friend's Navigator sometimes...... It seemed alright........( a number of years ago)
Until you needed to avoid an object on the highway...... The "comfortable" suspension scared me to almost death !!
( And I know how to drive )

In the 2006-10 Explorers you can flip the rear headrests down when not in use. This feature is quite nice and helps a lot. But, the view out the side and rear windows is quite poor. This is a problem that exists in most new cars though. I was alarmed that the visibility out of a new Toyota Tercel was worse than out from my Mercury Grand Marquis.

A lot of rear windows in smaller SUV's are poor visibility. (( With BIG rear headrests )) ????
Even when I removed the headrests.
I rented a Nissan Murano in 2010 and drove to Lake Tahoe..... It was awful. It was snowing & I wanted to keep an eye on stupid drivers behind me.

Not sure if you guys are aware but GM already invented the solution. It’s a rear view mirror that has a switch on it that toggles between normal rear view mirror and video display that uses a rear facing camera (different from the backup camera). It’s been standard equipment on the Escalade since 2017 and rumors are that it’ll make its way down the line to the Yukon and Tahoe/Suburban with the redesign.

I have it on my Escalade and use it all the time. The field of view is huge, I can see across 6 lanes of traffic behind my vehicle no problem. Also when I have the interior filled up with stuff to the ceiling and/or the video drop down screens are down, I hit the switch and can see out the back like a champ.
