2500 hd cluster

So I can get a 2500hd cluster for my Yukon , I want the trans temp. My question is the truck doesn't have dic , but my Yukon does. Do I need to have the cluster programed for the dic?

You shouldn't. What year is yours, and what year is the cluster from?

Not sure on the truck 03-06 , my Yukon is 05

Your trans temp might need to be programmed to turn on on your 05.

The programming is in the cluster, so the trans temp will work if he swaps the whole cluster. Not sure on the dic thing.

I heard up to early 04 it would work, after that it was a gamble if it was pnp.

That's correct if you're ADDING it to your existing cluster. The eeprom chip in the cluster has a bit that notes whether the trans temp is "on" or "off".

Swapping the whole cluster is different. Plug her in. Good to go.

Will be swapping the whole cluster , from understanding the trans temp should work as pnp cause its already in cluster , just not totally sure on dic. I'm guessing it will need to be programed.

On my '06 it was PNP.
